5 Steps to designing your perfect Kitchen

With there being so many different kitchen show rooms and providers, it can seem daunting choosing the right kitchen for you.  Here is our simple, five step guide to help ensure that you design yourself your dream kitchen which will last for years to come. There will always be time for a change, and maybe, recently the time is up for your worn out kitchen.
A kitchen can be drastically updated by simple things like repainting the walls, installing new tiles, or changing the worktops.

Scale it down!
Do this by making a scale model of your kitchen on paper. This means you can move he layout around to find the best for you. If you miss this step, you may just put your units back where they were, causing you to miss out on the best layout for you.

Small Kitchens can still be made more space-conscious
Many modern kitchens can be quite small - don’t be afraid to make big changes to give an effect!
New and exciting space saving furniture and storage combinations are being created all the time to get the most out of any nook and cranny you have available.

Space-saving units are the way forward
Corners are in rooms are notorious for there being wasted space, so make sure that you shop around for the best products.
These can include in cupboard shelving systems to make items tucked round the back of cupboards easy to reach.

Colour is your friend!
Colour is great! A splash of it can brighten up any dull colour scheme. The best art it, you can use as much or as little as you like, for example choosing a bright unit door. However all of these changes are long lasting. As these are more permanent that other changes, I would not advise using these if you like to update your colour scheme regularly. Colour can then be added through your appliances or a feature wall using paint or wallpaper.

Choosing the best appliances for your space
Appliances will be the most used part of your kitchen so you need to get them right.
The traditional large stove and oven combinations (made popular by AGA) have definitely become more popular; however they do take up lots of space. If you don’t have a massive farmhouse kitchen then that space could probably be used better elsewhere. This is also true with large American style larder fridges -which do not work as well in smaller spaces.
